Seek 'til You Find It

by Lisa Stice

this is where I dreamt
the same dream each
night—minor details
sometimes changed--
walking into the ocean
stepping into a pool
letting a lake swallow
me whole—pausing
to turn and smile--
I’d see myself
like I was smiling
at myself—gathering
the water about me
like a sheet you discover
later—damp, molded
