New MFA Literary Magazine Seeks Brilliant Submissions
Online submission deadline: Rolling
We are presently accepting original, unpublished works for an online literary journal associated with the University of Arkansas-Monticello MFA Program. We are interested in fiction and creative nonfiction anywhere from 25 to 2,500 words in length, poetry (no more than 5 poems per submission), photo essays, artwork, comics, video, hybrid—look, we’ve got eclectic tastes here. Don’t be afraid to submit works that defy form or genre. We cannot pay you, but if it makes you feel better, we’re not getting paid, either. But, if you surprise us with something not listed, we may surprise you by accepting it. foliateoakliterarymagazine.submittable.com/submit

While you're waiting for Foliate Oak Literary Magazine to re-open for Submissions on August 1, you may want to submit your fabulous work to UAM's new MFA unnamed literary/art magazine.  They hope to have their first issue up and running in June.

That's right, folks, it's here a day early! Go check it out and enjoy our huge collection of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and artwork. This issue will be available through the summer and we look forward to all of your submissions when we get back to work in September.

Last week we mailed our print anthology to all the included contributors (except for Maggie Apple, who we still haven't tracked down for an address).  If you haven't receive your copies, please e-mail us.

Hopefully, if all goes well, our final issue of the semester will be posted May 1.

Our new MFA program is starting a literary magazine and will be seeking submissions shortly, so send your best work their way.  As of today, they are unnamed, but by the time they get their first issue ready this summer, they'll not only have a name that rocks, but a brand new issue of amazing writing and artwork.  The Foliate Oak Literary Magazine will not be involved with the new magazine.  My guess is there will be a call for submissions in New Pages  later this week.  These new editors are eager to roll.

Take a peeky at the daily haiku.  Then, if you feel motivated, add yours on our blog. What?  No motivation to post a quick haiku?  What else would you rather do on a rainy day?
